2023-10-27
Gustaf Adolfskyrkan, Stockholm
In November we will attend competition in Italy once again, but this time it's not us who will be competing but a group of young conductors from all over the world! In the final, the competitors face an almost impossible task - to control En Kör. They must succeed in getting us, a choir that has never had a conductor, to follow them, and through their own interpretation and leadership, make the music flourish. To prepare ourselves for this unfamiliar situation, we invited four excellent conductors to lead us in the competition pieces on home territory: Ellinor Berg Bäcklin, Rasmus Krigström, Viktor Olsson, and Rebecka Ryd.

A competition concert
2019-10-15
Olaus Petrikyrkan, Stockholm
During the autumn of 2019 we competed in our very first choir competition, in Dubrovnik, Croatia. To calm our nerves before the competition we decided to give a concert with our programme for the competition for our own home audience. We put on our new matched set of clothes and sang both old favourites like Debussy's "Trois Chansons" as well as new additions to our repertoire like "Cantate Domino" by Lukaszewski. Partly in thanks to the lovely response by our home audience we nailed our performances during the actual competition and managed to win both categories we competed in!

One song too much
2019-05-31
Gustaf Adolfskyrkan, Stockholm
A choir concert with extra everything! One song to much offered an evening filled with blasting fortes, cheesy harmonies and catchy rhythms. The audience was brought along to stories with princes and princesses, the horses of Mongolia, a Bulgarian love drama and much, much more. As an additional bonus the audience got to see us the most dressed up we've even been.

Encore: En kör sings in French
2019-02-06
KTH Sing-Sing, Stockholm
In the beginning of 2019 we did a second performance of the repertoire from "En français" when we gave a lunch concert at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The snow was whirling outside when we performed music by Rachmaninov, Elgar and Britten. Many songs were in French, where the tongue-twisters "Nicolette" and "Ronde" by Maurice Ravel were some of the most challenging ones.
Des pas dans l’allée – Camille Saint-Saëns
Trois Chansons – Claude Debussy
O Wild West Wind – Edward Elgar
A Hymn to the Virgin – Benjamin Britten
Trois Chansons – Maurice Ravel
All-night vigil – Sergei Rachmaninoff

- Богородице, Дѣво (Bogoroditse, Devo)
Mass for double choir – Frank Martin
- II. Gloria

En français
2018-11-16
Gustaf Adolfskyrkan, Stockholm
This time our journey started in Paris where we explored the music of the early 20th century. En français, "in French", offered a mix of impressionistic colours, epic highlights and beautiful melodies. Like the concert title implies we performed many pieces from French composers like Debussy, Ravel and Saint-Saëns. The concert also included pieces by British, Russian and Swiss composers all influenced by the French style.
Des pas dans l’allée – Camille Saint-Saëns
Trois Chansons – Claude Debussy
O Wild West Wind – Edward Elgar
A Hymn to the Virgin – Benjamin Britten
Trois Chansons – Maurice Ravel
All-night vigil – Sergei Rachmaninoff
- Пріидите, поклонимся (Priidite, poklonimsya)

A spring night
2018-05-04
Gustaf Adolfskyrkan, Stockholm
A spring night brought the audience along on a journey from sunrise, through the light of day, to the darkness of the spring night. The pillars of the concert were four pieces chosen by the four voices of the choir. Many of the pieces were challenging and powerful, like MacMillan's "O Radiant Dawn", Child's "Do Not Go Gentle", and Allegri's "Miserere Mei, Deus". The concert was concluded with a favourite for both singers and audience, "Waternight" by Eric Whitacre.
O Radiant Dawn – James MacMillan
I Furuskogen – Wilhelm Peterson-Berger
Det ljusnar – Wilhelm Peterson-Berger
The modern man I sing – Bob Chilcott

An autumn concert
2017-11-17
Olaus Petrikyrkan, Stockholm
In the autumn of 2021 we got a few new members and reached the current set number of twelve singers. This, of course, had to be celebrated with a concert! The additional voices allowed us to sing more challenging pieces for double choirs, so we settled immediately for Martin's "Mass for double choir" and Bach's "Der Geist". This was also the first time that the tenors and basses got their own piece for a concert.
Cantate Domino – Claudio Monteverdi
Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf – Johann Sebastian Bach
Cantemus! – Lajos Bárdos
Tykus Tykus – Vaclovas Augustinas
Mänskans dagar är som gräset – Ulf Långbacka

The altos and sopranos also got a song of their own. A fantastic evening we will never forget!
